Clients using older versions of Adobe Commerce? Promote upgrades now
March 19, 2026
With Adobe Commerce 2.4.4, 2.4.5, and 2.4.6 reaching end of support this year, this is a perfect opportunity for partners to actively work with clients running these versions and encourage upgrading to a supported release or to our cloud offering.
After support ends, these versions will no longer receive security patches or quality updates, which can affect PCI compliance, platform stability, and overall risk exposure. The earlier you start talks with your customers about upgrading, including the creation of an upgrade plan, the more likely your customers will be able to avoid disruption and maintain a secure, reliable commerce environment.
To ensure continued access to performance, scalability, and security improvements, Adobe strongly recommends that all Commerce customers upgrade to the latest supported releases, such as Adobe Commerce 2.4.8 (supported through April 2028) or planning for Adobe Commerce 2.4.9 upon its expected release in May 2026.
We also encourage customers that are looking to reduce operational overhead to consider moving to Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service, which eliminates manual upgrades and provides continuous security and feature updates in a managed SaaS environment.
Helpful resources for customer conversations include:
- Adobe Commerce lifecycle policy
- Adobe Commerce 2.4.8 release notes
- Adobe Commerce 2.4.8 Beta release notes
- Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service overview
- Migration guide
- Adobe Commerce end of support FAQ
The policy document will help you align with Adobe’s plan, while the other resources will help you work with customers to plan and execute the upgrade with confidence.
NOTE: If you are working with a customer who has purchased the Healthcare add-on to meet their HIPAA readiness requirements, the HIPAA Ready extension is currently not supported with version 2.4.8. Adobe is working on adding support for this version and will provide an update once it becomes available.
